Meetings of the Montgomery Gem & Mineral Society are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Mureal Crump Community Center,1735 Highland Avenue, Montgomery, AL.  The annual gem show replaces the December meeting.  Anyone interested in gems and minerals is invited to attend.  Field trips, workshops, and classes are held at various locations.  These are announced at monthly meetings.  See the schedule below for monthly meeting dates and programs.

January 14th - Show & Tell, members get a chance to show off what they have collected and crafted during the previous year.

February 11th - Metaphysical and Healing Properties of Gems and Crystals presented by Kate Goodall.

March 11th - Identification of Gemstones presented by Kim Cochran.

May 13th - Mineral Identification in the field presented by Anita Westlake.

June 10th - Wetumpka Meteor Crater presented by Dr. David King, Jr., Professor of Geology, Auburn University

July 8th - Video on the Smithsonian National Gem Collection

August 12th - Dr. John Van Valkenburg will give a talk on fossils and Indian artifacts.

September 9th - Petrified Wood Demonstration by Dr. Richard E. Carol from the University of Alabama

October 14th - Formation of Geodes presented by Gloria Adams of the Birmingham Gem Club

November 11th - Planning for the Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show
